Who is Fit Emmett?
Fit Emmett is first and foremost a Believer, a supportive husband and a loving dad. My mission field, my calling and purpose is within health and fitness. I help clients around the world to transform their bodies and change their lives.
Growing up I’ve always been very athletic and I wanted to play football but couldn't (because of the threat of getting hurt at only 110lbs) and I was horrible at basketball. As for any of the other sports, I didn’t have enough interest in order to push myself to try. I maintained a very small frame until college. When I was introduced to working out to build muscle by my roommate, a football player, I soon realized that it was easy for me to change my physique and feel amazing, so I adopted exercise as a daily routine. They say that you can tell a lot about a person just based on their rituals and I was a reflection of that. I went from about 150lbs the beginning of my sophomore year to 175lbs by the conclusion. Through the years I’ve been able to get as high as 270lbs, which is a lot because I’m only 5’6. I have competed as a Natural Pro Bodybuilder and powerlifter. I realized that changing my physique has been such a great gift that I decided to help others to do the same by becoming a personal trainer. Through personal training I have had the pleasure of working with many different body types, age groups, and physical challenges. The one thing that I have noticed about many of my clients with great success within their program is that, no matter what the challenge is, they have a strong desire to make a change. Currently I work with a few exclusive clients in which we implement my HI-FCT training philosophy to help them to achieve their very best lean and toned body in a short timeframe. I have authored several fitness articles for newspapers, magazines and websites, hosted podcasts, as well as appeared on a few morning shows. Ultimately my goal is to be a part of transforming and changing the lives of millions of people around the world with the message of Hope, Health & Happiness.

What do you do on a daily basis?
I wake between 3:30a and 4a do some meditation and prayer about the day and then get going. I get to the gym read a journal or something fitness related and then get cranking on about 15-30min of interval cardio. I would much rather the physique of a sprinter than a marathoner so I never do a run for 30 minutes straight. I will work with clients all day then finish with checking my emails to make sure I stay connected to all my Fit Crew Members.

What’s your favorite strength training exercise?
That’s a tough one. I would have to say that squats are my absolute favorite, only because they are the most challenging and I’ve learned that if there is something that is really challenging to overcome you need to switch your thinking about that specific thing. So I love love love squats lol.
What about conditioning?
In terms of conditioning I like to keep a pretty solid muscular physique so I do intervals uphill. I typically set the incline all the way up and start by walking for 2 minutes holding on and then I normally would hike it uphill while not holding on for 1 minute.
What’s your favorite healthy meal?
I would say that my favorite healthy meal would be salmon, a medium sized sweet potato and green beans.
What’s your favorite cheat meal?
I know this is going to sound crazy but my favorite cheat meal is protein pancakes. The recipe includes 1 cup of oats, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, 8 egg whites, 2 ounces of Unsweetened Almond Milk

Do you read often? If so what’s your book of choice?
I wouldn’t say that I’m an avid reader but when I do I like to read personal development. I especially like "How to Win Friends and Influence People". Idea has their fitness journals that I read very often because they offer a ton of continuing education. I have read the Bible but I usually chunk it into groups or if I feel inspired I will concentrate on Ephesians.

What kind of music do you listen to?
I would say that I have a very eclectic musical taste. I grew up in the 80’s but my grandmother didn’t really allow us to listen to anything overly secular. Enter the 90’s. The 90’s was a great musical era for me.
My all time favorite bands are Creed and Notorious BIG.
A Tribe Called Quest would be a close third. I love pretty much all old school hip hop; from NWA to EPMD. Anything from ’85-’95.
Some other bands and solo artists that are among my favorites are:
• Pearl Jam
• Hootie & the Blowfish
• Live
• Dave Matthews
• Matthew West
• Switchfoot
• Lot’s of Dubstep Stuff
• Tiesto
• Rage Against the Machine
• Linkin Park
• Toby Mac
• Flee
• Live
• Smashing Pumpkins
• Mandisa
• Jeremy Camp
• Jay Z

My Life By The Years; the Short Version
1982- Entered the world in Columbia SC
1996- Started high school at barely 110 pounds and a little over five feet tall. I was the epitome of the skinny hardgainer with the worst genetics imaginable.
I was very shy, quiet and not athletic at all
2001- After coming to college and trying to increase my weight I discovered weight lifting and soon realized that it was my ticket to picking up a few pounds and it also made me feel great
I was an average student in High school and College but when I started working out I really wanted to excel
2002- I would call these next couple years my fitness years because this is when I started power lifting and set a state bench press record. I also became a personal trainer and dabbled in bodybuilding.

I was all into fitness at this point. I saw great change in my physique so I knew that I would be successful at helping others do the same. I went from 119 when I graduated high school to now (junior year of college) weighing 230lbs
I continued to grow and gain more knowledge of health and fitness.
Most of my friends in college supported me but thought that bodybuilding was a little different.
Fastforward 2006- I graduated from Winthrop University in 2004 with a degree in business but I decided that I liked fitness and nutrition way more. I worked at Leroy Springs Recreational complex in their weightroom while studying towards my masters in Nutrition. Due to a significant weight of the debt that I acquired I ended up discontinuing the program and working as a personal trainer full time. I went from house to house and from gym to gym. I soon realized that you can drive all over the world and back with personal training if you are mobile.
2011- I married the my dream bride. Life is Great!
In the same instance I came upon a crossroads where life had me in a place where I needed to make a choice. A week of meditation and prayer I got a big push from God to grow this vision to change peoples lives. It soon became known as Faith Fitness Studio.
Present- I closed Faith Fitness Studio to be able to focus more on my family and being the best husband and father that I could possibly be while also keeping a handful of 1 on 1 clients that I can really pour into to get really good results. I also work with clients online locally and around the world through my app. I love working with my group of exclusive clients while also competing as a Pro Natural Bodybuilder
I couldn’t be more appreciative, humbled and honored.
Thanks for reading (if you’ve made it this far),
